Rates for lacquer mastering, reference disks and dubplates are based upon your supplied audio source and will be transferred directly to the lacquer disk with no additional session work. This is referred to as a "flat cut." If mastering services are requested prior to disk cutting, then the session rates will apply. After the mastering session, the in-house disk cutting rates will apply.

Sound Affair Mastering recommends a reference disk of your project which can be reviewed in your own listening environment.
This way, you can specify equalization or level changes, volume level for the disk, high and low frequency response and band spacing from track to track prior to cutting the final master lacquer. This will avoid an additional cost of re-cutting re-plating and ordering a new set of test pressings. This is the best option to gauge how your music will translate to the vinyl format.
Our Digilog Reference Test Cut offers you another solution to review how your music will translate to the vinyl format without the cost of a full reference disk. Each test cut features a 1.5 minute sample of your music cut onto a lacquer disk. These samples are then played back through our turntable, then transferred to a WAV file and sent to you via FTP. Once again this service will provide you a preview before the Lacquer Master cut. This will allow you to make any necessary adjustments if needed and avoid any additional cost of re-cutting re-plating and ordering a new set of test pressings ultimately save time and money. Test cuts are available for up to 10 minutes per two-sided disc.
